Filming at Stansted
Stansted airport has had its fair share of air time coverage and has seen its fair share of celebrities over the years with various filming being done at this busy airport. The most recent film was from the latest batman series called The Dark Knight Rises. Here is a list of some of the other films and television programmes that were filmed at Stansted Airport:
- Get him to the Greek – filmed in 2009
- Mile High
- Come Fly With Me (a mock documentary) – filmed in 2010
- Last Chance Harvey
- Flight 93
- The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel
- London Dreams
- Bugs
- The Dark Knight Rises – filmed 2012
- Little Britain
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel was another recent film that used Stansted airport for some of the filming, along with a Bollywood movie earlier this year, and who can forget the Little Britain series Come Fly With Me.
To be able to film or photograph at the airport you need to obtain a permit first and sometimes for security reason it is just not possible. Even news coverage items need to advise the airport hours in advance before they can just turn up as safety is a big issue for any airport and all factors need to be taken in to effect first to ensure the safety of all its passengers which come first.
So it pays to keep an eye out as who know who you might bump in to the next time you fly out of Stansted Airport or what programme could be filming there!
