Restaurants to visit near Stansted Airport

We are very lucky in this corner of Essex to be blessed with so many fantastic restaurants, many of which are just a stones throw from the Airport. If you are staying near to Stansted Airport then you might want to venture out to eat and you certainly won’t struggle to find somewhere no matter what your favourite food.

Chinese Restaurants

My personal favourite Chinese restaurant is Gourmet Oriental, they have a fantastic deal where you pay a set fee and can try as many different dishes as you like. Table service is offered so it feels a bit more special that visiting a buffet style restaurant but you get to try lots of different types of food. It’s located in the centre of Bishops Stortford which is located right next to Stansted Airport. There is plenty of parking available.

Indian Restaurants

The newly re-opened Zara is again in Bishop’s Stortford, an Indian restaurant modern in design and flavour. It’s more expensive that your average Indian restaurant but it is definitely worth the extra. The service is great and the food delicious. There is on-site parking so you don’t need to worry about where to park your car and again it’s just a few miles from the Airport itself.

Chain Restaurants

If you have a particular favourite chain of restaurant that you like, or you know that it will keep the kids happy and therefore offer you a stress free experience, then you can find most of the national chains either on the Airport itself or in the surrounding area. You will find everything from MacDonalds, to Prezzo and Chimichangas, KFC or Zizzi. It’ all pretty much there, please do ask us when staying and we can point you in the right direction.

Top Notch British!

If you fancy something a bit more upmarket then the local area can offer that too. There is Host, The Lemon Tree and the Cricketer’s to name a few, all close to Stansted Airport and all offering a great menu selection for those wanting a special meal or just wanting to start their holiday and splash out a little.

Pub Grub

There is an overwhelming choice when it comes to good pub food near Stansted Airport, many of which need prior booking because of their popularity. One of my favourites is The Three Willows in Birchanger which is famous in the local area for its fish offering and it’s somewhere you can enjoy fabulous food in a relaxed environment.
