Stuff to Do on the Way to Stansted Airport

getting to the airport

We’re all so busy rushing around these days, even the relatively simple journey to Stansted Airport can be fraught with stress – “are we going to make it on time?” – “are we nearly there yet?” – “why is this traffic moving so slowly – don’t they know we’ve got a plane to catch?”

Here’s a much better idea, why not start off your journey or holiday with a leisurely drive, take your time and enjoy some of the fabulous stuff to do on the way to the airport. Start your holiday a day earlier and take in some of the sights.

Did you know that Paradise Wildlife Park is only 30 miles from Stansted Airport and can provide a great few hours entertainment for families who like to walk on the wild side. It’s a great opportunity to get acquainted with the big cats (not too acquainted of course), the penguins, crocodiles, wolves, meerkats and more.

The world famous Colchester Zoo is also well within reach of the airport, only 30 miles or so this fabulous 60 acre parkland provides a superb environment to relax, feed the elephants and giraffes and simply chill out before flying off to somewhere amazing.

Butterfly World provides another fabulous location to while away the hours and get into the holiday mood. It’s less than 45 minutes from the airport and is a fantastic distraction from sitting in the traffic or getting het up in the rush hour.

After your visits you can stay in one of the many fabulous hotels close to the airport and be ready for an early morning flight totally refreshed and already in the holiday mood.

So remember, next time you’re heading for Stansted Airport what’s the rush – chill, enjoy the journey and start your holidays a few hours earlier. What a fabulous way to unwind.
