Stansted Airport is owned by MAG, the Manchester Airports Group and they have recently submitted new plans to expand the Airport substantially. The proposal includes increased capacity to 160 million passengers each year. This has been submitted to tackle the growing demand.
One of the arguments for expansion is that without it another Country will take the lead meaning a missed opportunity for the UK to take advantage for the ever increasing number of people travelling by air. Who would have thought it, but Stansted Airport has gone all glam after one of its staff members Kirsty Heslewood, was recently crowned as Miss England and will soon go on to represent England and the Miss World competition in Indonesia later on in the year.
Kirsty lives nearby in Great Hallingbury which is just a short distance from the Airport. The competition held in Torquay took place in June 2013 and after 4 days of competition went on to win the title.
